I’ve been walking in the streets of Adelaide and wishing to draw some cityscapes like when I was studying. So one sunny afternoon I sat down in a Chocolate bar under the umbrella and drew this masterpiece with terribly wrong proportions. This is really good practice if you want to see all little details like a little over painted nail holding a wooden part of the façade. Oh, it is wood, I never thought about it!
Original is black’n’white only, I added some red on a printed copy. Other thing I learned that day is that a sketchbook from a set “back to school” is 5 times better than fancy named (“Professional artist series” or something like that) ones which I got in art supplies shops.

Bicycles
Lately I’ve been busy with all that Christmas stuff, so I don’t have a lot of finished new pictures, just sketches, but somehow, in that pile of papers I found few bicycles. I think I finally learned how to draw a bike 🙂
A drawing for a solar plate or how is it called. I was trying new (for me) graphic printing technique.
This is what I get. Not perfect.
Then there is a canvas bag with a stencil fox on an old style bike. You think only fixed gear is cool?
I really loved the image of a fox riding a bike… Or was it the situation “I want to draw but I don’t know what!” (yes, thats the reason!). Little watercolour picture.
And I have a painting in progress. With a bike, of course! They are chasing me!
Christmas business
Some dates changed a little bit, so I just updated the calendar.
As always – time before Christmas is very busy. And there will be a bunch of little and bigger markets and other events. I’m going to participate in these ones:
A handy calendar for all of you. And especially for myself 🙂
December 2, Friday. The Local Market @ East End. Lovely Ebenezer place (the one with chocolate and Belgium beer in the neighbourhood).
December 4, Sunday. Studio Lingo last big sale. It is very sad that this nice place is closing down… 98 Prospect Road, Prospect.
December 16, Friday. Espionage gallery holds an Art Market every month. And everytime it is different and somehow special. Last time I drew how to find it.
December 10, Saturday. Box Factory Community Garage Sale and Christmas Market. It is a little community event with fun for everyone. There should be some face painting, gift wrapping and other things.
December 18, Sunday. West End Christmas Market and Carnivale @ Leigh street. The last but not the least!
Learning to fly
A Squirrel and a Rabbit
These two were drawn while sitting in Espionage gallery. I got simple white envelopes in a garage sale and found their paper as very nice for drawing. It is so smooth and line looks so beautiful!
The view of Adelaide’s roofs.
It is always interesting to draw things on the table if there are many of them. Though I think there were no flies…
